The rural site sits above the Huatoki Valley with an outlook down to the city, out to sea and to the coastline to the north. The property is overlooked by Mount Taranaki and as such the home has been designed to blend with the surroundings. 

The house utilises passive thermal heating in winter soaking up the sun with the thermal mass of polished concrete floors and solid concrete walls. In summer the generous overhangs and cross ventilation create a cool breezy environment.

The open plan living opens to a large paved outdoor area for summer living and entertaining focused around the outdoor wood fire.
