Originally designed for C.I. Nathan Esq.
by Gummer an Ford Architects and Engineers in 1957, and altered by
D.G. Swann in 1963.
The original Gummer and Ford designed areas and details were to be retained including fireplaces, architraves and general detailing, with external landscaping and pergolas kept in place. Previous areas of alteration were upgraded to be in sympathy with the original existing bathrooms, and kitchens were to be fully replaced and designed to utilize contemporary finishes, contrasting with the traditional detail whilst remaining sympathetic to the intention of the original architectural concept.
The project brief included the addition of two bedrooms with associated ensuites and decks to the upper floor. The existing bedrooms in the western wing of the house were to be redesigned to incorporate a casual sitting area and separate laundry.
